Tumbbad is a horror-based movie also based on true events. As we know Tumbbad is a village located on the banks of JagBudi river in Ratnagiri district’s Ratnagiri taluka in Maharashtra’s Konkan division. The village is about 100 kilometers away from the Koyna wildlife sanctuary. The village is famous for mugger crocodiles. The village is also known for its curse of raining every season of the year.

Many people say the village is cursed for worshiping Hastar. Hastar is a cursed Hindu god who lives inside the womb of the Goddess of Plenty per some legendary stories. He came into the limelight because of the movie Tumbbad in which he is the central character. The movie was released in the year 2018 and left a strong impact on the Indian audience. Is Tumbbad Based On Real Story?

The plot of Tumbbad is amazing and based on true events. Which is based on the village named Tumbbad near Ratnagiri district.

Tumbbad Plot Recap

The main character of the movie is Vinayak Rao. The village is known as the cursed village and is a mythological story about a goddess who created the entire universe. The plot revolves around the consequences when humans build a temple for their firstborn. Hastar is the name of the cursed Hindu god. Worshiping him is restricted by the goddess who created this universe and gave birth to hundreds and thousands of Gods and goddesses.

In this movie, it shows that the people of the village started worshiping him and that’s a very negative thing to do and that’s why the village is called the cursed village. Hastar is very greedy, and he got cursed by God. But then his mother came for recuse because she loves him so much but also gives her a curse that no one will worship him. He will forget everything about himself and his existence. But the villagers started worshiping him and a man who is greedy for the gold of Hastar and start gaining every single piece of information about how to get it. His grandmother is also cursed for starting the worshiping of Hastar.

After getting all the information about gold and how to get it. He performs the last rites of his grandmother and after that, he started taking gold from Hastar and selling it to his friend. After doing it for a long time Vinayak Rao started getting old and starts to give information to his son. He and his son went to Hastar to take gold at one time. They provide more food to Hastar because Hastar’s only weakness is food because he has all of the gold but no food. Vinayak Rao and his son went to Hastar and offered him food and his son is collecting gold, but an unfortunate situation happened Vinayak Rao got killed by his son and after this movie ends.

Tumbbad 2 Cast

The cast of Tumbbad is of very talented actors. Tumbbad is Sohum Shah [ Vinayak rao], Piyush Kaushik [grandmother], Deepak Damle [ Raghav], Anita Date-Kelkar [vaidehi Vinayak’s wife], and Harish Khanna [ raja samsthanik]. Also, there are many supporting actors and actresses. According to our sources cast of previous seasons will be in season 2.

Tumbbad 2 Plot Expectations

As we have seen in Tumbbad, in the end, Vinayak Rao dies but his son successfully runs away from the Hastar. So, from the ending of Tumbadd, we can say that his son and other characters are going to play important role in Tumbbad 2. His son is the only person who knows the real information on how to get gold from Hastar without getting cursed so if there would be a season 2. we might have another story or else the second installment can pick up the old plot from where season one ended. Pandurang is surely going to play a big role in the second part and that is going to be interesting.
