The story revolves around the lion-hearted freedom fighter in a fictional story set against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement in 1942. The story of the film Ae Watan Mere Watan is inspired by true events. The story is inspired by freedom fighter Usha Mehta a secret radio operator during the freedom struggle. Usha Mehta played an important role during the independence of the country. She started a secret radio service named ‘Congress Radio’. This was very helpful for the freedom fighters to get information and other news was shared at that time, which was banned by the British during that time. She was born on 25 March 1920. She was arrested for four years, as she was running the Congress Radio. The Indian government awarded her with Padmaja Vibhushan and On 11 August 2000, she died.
